Leather Bondage Gear products need better workmanship and skills than regular belts. They share some things with belts. But the key is that our factory and sample makers must know and understand these products well to make them right. We started working on this in 2020. We were late to the game. By then, other skilled craftspeople already knew a lot about these items. Many sellers loved their work. But we did not stop. We knew our skills could handle this too.
The Spark
Before 2020, our factory focused on handbags and belts. Sometimes, customers asked for pet leashes or harnesses. In February 2020, right after Chinese New Year, a customer came to us. He wanted us to develop Bondage Gear products. We started with leather paddles. We had no experience with this. No one in our team knew how. We looked at the drawings and talked deeply with our master craftsman. I thought, “Let’s give it a try.”
The first sample was not good. We could not get the paddle’s softness and hardness right. It depended a lot on the core material. The style was close to what the customer wanted. But the function was not there yet. We had to keep fixing it. We bought other similar products from the market. We even cut them open to study the core and structure. In the end, we found the trick. After the third sample, it matched the customer’s dream. We finished the first order for paddles smoothly.
The Growth
After that first order succeeded, we bought more Bondage Gear products to study. We also searched online for lots of info. This helped us learn the features and uses of these items. I am not a user or fan of these products. Watching the videos—especially testing how they work—made me feel uneasy. It was very awkward. But that did not stop our deep research.
Later, customers asked for more: collars, leashes, and restraint straps. I learned something key. If we truly understand how these products are used, we can make them look and work just right for the customer. Sometimes, the first sample hits the mark perfectly. Our confidence grew big. We believed we could do well in this field too.
The Leap
In 2023, we took on Upko—one of China’s top Bondage Gear brands. Their products lead sales on big e-commerce sites. We are proud to be one of their makers. The partnership is new. But customers love our work. You can see it clearly.
In our sample room, we set up a special “Leather Bondage Gear display.” It shows whips, paddles, collars, masks, and restraint sets. Guests always stop to look. It is a must-see highlight.
